ARE YOU READY TO LEARN THE "TRUTH"?

*****TRUTH BLOG TOUR INTERVIEW/REVIEW*****

B&B:   Ms. Romig, thank you for joining us today. As you know The B&B Book Review was birthed from conversations, with wine, over your books. Is there a snack and/or drink that you always have to have while writing?

AR:     If it is earlier in the day, I love my coffee. As the day progresses, I like iced tea—then if it is after dinner, I tend to like wine!

B&B:    Can you name some funny and/or random things that happened while you were writing “Truth”? (It can be something that happened in the story, or something that happened with your family. Anything at all!)

AR:  : I wrote about six beginnings to Truth. That’s based on the Epilogue of Consequences. I took the story many different directions. It wasn’t until I came to terms with where I wanted the story to go that I was finally able to start truly writing. Once I did, Mr. Jeff told me that no one would like it. He said the readers would be upset. It wasn’t that I didn’t care—but, I can’t write that way. I have to write what I want to write.

I’ve learned that it isn’t possible to please EVERYONE. Therefore, I’ve decided to please myself. Funny thing—the ratings and reviews are fantastic for Truth.

B&B:    In three words, describe Tony. In another three words, describe Claire.

    Tony—complicated—broken—and unaware
    Claire—survivor—needy—resourceful

B&B:    Do you have any exciting stories about your latest novel Truth that you think will be of readers interest?

AR:     When I wrote Consequences, I did not plan on it being the beginning of a trilogy or a series. I thought it was a standalone book; however, my readers wanted to know what happened next. To be honest, so did I.
Tony and Claire wouldn’t leave me alone. I thought about them constantly. I needed to learn the TRUTH of their story. I mean, did Claire really love him? Did she only go on with their relationship because of Stockholm syndrome? What about Tony? Why would he do what he did at the end of Consequences? Were Claire’s consequences planned from the beginning? How do their ancestors fit into the story? I had SO many lingering questions...the only way to learn the answers was to sit down and write. I can just say...after surviving the Consequences—everyone NEEDS to learn the TRUTH!

B&B:    Thank you so much for taking time with us today, Ms. Romig. We also want to thank Hardcover Therapy for allowing us to be part of the blog tour. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

AR:    The final book in the series is CONVICTED. I’m super excited about this installment. I kinda have a reputation as a “Mind F***”. I take that title seriously and quoting Tony, “I didn’t want to disappoint—public failure isn’t an option.”

There you have it!!! Please continue reading for our ****SPOILER FREE**** review of "TRUTH".
Image and video hosting by TinyPic Synopsis ~ Claire Nichols endured the CONSEQUENCES of Anthony Rawlings’ vendetta. When she first arrived to his home, her goal was survival. Claire’s world teetered on the edge of sanity as Antony monitored her every move. When given the opportunity to flee, Claire drove away. A fateful decision which set a well laid plan into motion. However, unbeknownst to either of them, there were others who saw past the perfect facade of Anthony Rawlings. There were others who saw the TRUTH. Conspiracy and unfulfilled promises result in an early prison release for Claire. Not just a release – a pardon. According to the law, her crime never happened! Will it be that easy? Faced with freedom from her past... can Claire seize it? Can she build a new life, mend her broken spirit, become the woman she once was, and seek her own revenge? Or is it all a game? And does the game master have different plans? How does Sophia Burke fit into the puzzle that is Tony and Claire? Will her presence affect the future of this well esteemed man? Can he dominate twice? Is that his goal? When buried sins are discovered they threaten not only Tony and Claire’s future -- but their very lives! Will the TRUTH be revealed in time?

The TRUTH of this second novel in the CONSEQUENCES series is that it is better than the first, if that is possible. "Truth" is a story of evolution. If you take nothing else away from this novel you must see, through Aleatha Romig's writings, that all things evolve, for better or worse, and she takes us on a journey of evolution through the characters of Claire Nichols Rawlings and Anthony Rawlings. We bear witness, and become emotionally entangled, in the process of change in these two characters individually, as well as the relationship between them and others. They go from horrid and controlling sets of circumstances to higher, better distinguishable differences.
How Ms. Rawlings draws us in is seductive. We are teased into the story with a sense of empathy like a warm blanket, due, in part, to our hearts hanging on a hook from the grievous and lamentable ending of "Consequences". By Chapter two it is impossible to abandon this book because we are so emotionally invested in the lives of Tony and Claire. No matter if you love them or hate them, you must continue reading as to know the outcome. The pleasing observation, I found, at the end of "Truth" was that I grew with the characters and harvested some emotions that must lay dormant inside me (at one point I wanted to throw my Kindle in anger; another had me channeling my inner cheerleader, pom poms in hand!). Moral issues that I absolutely, positively had a solid opinion of before I read this book I questioned at the end of it. That, dear readers, is the mark of a great author.
The delicious part of this book, in my opinion, was that the semantics were so raw, tolerant, merciful and humane in one chapter, and in the next delightful and quippy!! You will know what I mean when you read -- and read you must - "Truth"!!!
I am sooooooo looking forward to the final installment of this story, "Convicted". If it is anything like her first two novels, Ms. Romig will deliver it not with a tidy red bow, but on a giant, screaming, twisting, turning, flaming, red roller coaster!!!!
